Thanksgiving Recipes for a Delicious Meal

Turkey dinner

On November 22nd you may be hosting Thanksgiving dinner in your apartment here at Woodview at Legacy Farms, sharing dinner with family or friends across town in Hopkinton, MA, or traveling elsewhere to enjoy turkey and cranberry sauce, potatoes and gravy, stuffing, and of course, pumpkin pie. Wherever you celebrate, we want to wish you a happy Thanksgiving!

In today’s blog post we have some ideas for sides that go well with the star of the show, your turkey, and a few dessert recipes to round things out. Recipes and descriptions are from Allrecipes.com. Enjoy!

Sides

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

“My family begs me to make this creamy baked dish every Thanksgiving and Christmas. What makes it so good is the pecan topping! Try it and I'm sure it will become your new tradition!”

Squash and Green Bean Saute Side Dish

“Simple, tasty side dish which is quick and easy to prepare.”

Grandma’s Hot Hominy

“This is a great side dish for the holidays. Grandma always served this with Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Goes well with turkey and dressing.”

Desserts

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

The classic moist pumpkin bread from Down East is spiced with cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves. This bread improves with age, so plan to make it a day ahead if possible.

Cranberry Bread Pudding

Cranberries and raisins are folded into a sweet bread pudding batter for a colorful dessert for holidays and special occasions. It makes a great breakfast strata, too.

Turtles® Pumpkin Pie

"This recipe takes pumpkin pie to a whole new level, with drizzled caramel, chopped pecans and airy COOL WHIP Whipped Topping. Cue the applause."
